Exhibition identity.
The “Shuud Busaar” (eng. “Indirectly”) exhibition immerses us in the world of hidden symbols and images of the Turkic-Mongolian peoples through the lens of contemporary artists.
In the cultures of the Buryads, Kalmyks, and Sakha, verbal constraints and symbolic language have been closely tied to harsh climatic conditions, belief in spirits, and a deep connection with nature.
On one hand, this helped people protect themselves on various levels; on the other hand, it acknowledged the existence of other worlds invisible to us.
This highly non-anthropocentric perception fosters greater awareness of surrounding conditions and contexts that are often bigger and stronger than us. How do we respond to these? What connects us? These are the questions that the artists of the "Shuud Busaar" (indirectly) exhibition seek to answer.
